Uber Cool New Logo Teaser

Uber Cool Events is a Durban based events company with a keen focus on underground bass music, after having a new logo shape developed, I was asked to create a new logo build to show off the new logo shape and where it originated from! I set off to film a number of underground scenes as that was where the very first events from Uber Cool happened! I went through some R&D and eventually created a dynamics simulation to build the new logo and shape from the underground setting the mood for a dramatic cataclysmic situation!

I worked closely with a creative team to help bring Red Bulls new App exclusively for Nokia phones to life. I was supplied all the footage, artwork and direction for the features of the app along with a story board to follow whilst tracking, animating and compositing all the elements!

This is my first collection of all my favorite commercial and personal work up to 2012. I have tried to make my Demo Reel for this year a piece of work in it’s self. It shows my personal development through learning and experimenting with new types of media, compositing, animation and so on. I enjoyed everything about this and I hope to find more spare time to develop further.

Whilst working at Public Address, I created, animated and composited these various 5 second stings/indents to play through out the 2012 show reel. The direction was to sum up the key features about the agency.

Learn Something New, This is the first look at my new Logo, one that after quite some time spent refining it, I am happy with it, its also very different to my last logo. As for the video I used a linear workflow for this little piece, from filming, to 3D, to compositing, and then graded all the elements, which is really cool!

HyperNURBS, Metaball, Cloner, Cubes, Step and Random effector, Shader Effector. The 1st learn something new for 2012, I also used new techniques to track this footage, a card with markings on it, that was on the my desk at work, which helped get a solid track!!

This was another Learn Something new piece, experimenting with Spherical Mapping, Spatial Mapping, Meta Balls, Spline Wraps and DoF… It was pretty fun but, when going for the abstract stuff like this, it is surprising how long it actually takes to set up to look good!

Learn Something New, My first Live Action motion tracking piece. The Aim was not to get a 100% perfect track off the footage, but to test various tracking and compositing methods. Being able to create elements such as a lense flare and have it move as if it were in the footage was interesting. As well as lighting the 3D logo to match the light in the footage, along with colour correction and some extra effects.
